After weeks of waiting and previewing the sneaker on FaceBook, you can finally head to NikeiD and customize and purchase the LeBron IX. It is available in 2 versions, the standard, and limited; both retail for $206. The limited has a few colors that will only be available in the limited version, as well as the addition of the gum rubber sole option. As usual, we start with a blank canvas and customize from there.

We decided, given the time of year, that it is time for a Halloween theme, and why not try it out on the new Nike LeBron IX. After customizing the upper in team orange and black, del sole orange was used as a nice accent on the swoosh.
Black laces are seen in the picture, however it is worth noting that a secondary color is included in the box, we chose del sole to match the Nike Swoosh. White seemed to fit best on the midsole to add a nice separation between the air back, which we made black. A black and white outsole finishes the sneaker off to complete the look.
Now for the fun part. There is a customizable text area on the back of each tongue inside the sneaker. Where the LeBron 8 had a plate that stated the shoe was “engineered to the exact specifications of Mr. LeBron James,” You can add your own 5 character combination to each sneaker. The obvious choice for our Halloween sneaker was “Trick” and “Treat.”

Overall, the LeBron IX offers a pretty customizable experience at about $35 over retail pricing. Take a look at the final product below and let us know if you will be customizing a pair for yourself.
