John Wall’s second signature shoe wit
h Reebok, the Zig Encore, is now fully customizeable on YourReebok. By heading to Reebok’s website you will discover their answer to the Nike iD system, and I must say, it is pretty impressive. If you like to customize shoes, give the YourReebok system a shot.
Right off the bat you will notice a very user-friendly interface when it comes to selecting the different aspects of the shoe to be customized. As ususal, when I test out a customizeable sneaker, I like to select a theme. Let’s go with an “Olympic rings” colored theme. Starting out, the process is the very similar to any other site you have used to personalize your own shoes. It was easy to apply the colors that I needed to achieve the look I was going for.
After taking care of the upper, I was pleasantly surprised to see the extra options available as I progressed through the customization process. While customizing the “top” of the shoe, not only can you select your lace color, but you have the option to add a second pair of laces in any color you want for an additional $3.00. The sock liner can be upgraded to a nice army camo pattern instead of a solid color, which adds a unique touch to the shoe. Moving on to sole options, I was able to add either a faded look, or speckles to the midsole for a small fee. As you can see in the pictures I chose a white speckle to make the red midsole pop. I also decided to go for the “A-1 ice” outsole. This $5.00 option creates a semi-translucent outsole that covers your Reebok Zig midsole.
Finally, after choosing a color for the heel tab it was time to insert some custom text. There is a 6 character max here, and you may choose from a variety of colors for the embroidery. I chose “London” which
is the site of the next Oylmpic games, just to go with our theme. In the end, my fully customized version of John Wall’s Reebok Zig Encore retailed around $160, that is with several extra options selected. With basic customization, the Zig Encore can be personalized for around $145. Check out the pictures, and let us know if this is a shoe you can see yourself customizing.

These are sweet shoes.
